2025 is a year of change across industries, including hospitality, as consumer preferences shift and businesses deal with changes in the federal government.
On the development front, hotel conversions will be a popular option as building costs remain high, and apartment-style accommodations, in particular, will see heightened demand both from consumers and developers interested in the product type. Properties of all stripes, though, make up this year’s most anticipated hotel openings.
Meanwhile, hotel restaurants keeping up with food and beverage trends will adopt multisensory experiences and social media-influenced menus. Travelers will also seek out high-tech wellness offerings and opportunities for cultural immersion — and they’ll be more likely to travel with a group or multiple generations of family.
At the same time, hospitality employers will grapple with a kneecapped National Labor Relations Board, which labor law attorneys say could present challenges in staff management.
Hotel Dive spoke to industry experts about the changing hospitality landscape, and how hoteliers can prepare for the year ahead. See below for a roundup of all of our 2025 outlooks.
