As we all look to become good stewards of our environment, companies know that they must strive to be more environmentally conscious with their goods and services to entice consumers. Hoteliers are no different, constantly looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint and educate consumers on the ways the hotel company is helping change the world.
Lately, there's a huge push to remove the small plastic bottles of shampoo, soap, lotion and sometimes conditioners. Undoubtedly this would help reduce the number of plastic bottles being used, however there are still many issues to work out.
Marriott and Holiday Inns are making the switch now, with others following suit in the near future. Here's a link to Holiday Inn's initiative:
California has even issued a mandate to all hotels, that by 2023 all single use bottles must be removed from rooms and replaced with bulk products. Here's a link to that article:
